Live Well-Wellness Fair at Encanterra Country Club Resort

Live Well, Wellness Fair Encanterra Country Club Resort Community forever sabbatical

When you are researching a vacation resort, do you look up the fitness/wellness options that are available? We attended the Encanterra Country Club Resort Community Live Well, Wellness Fair to learn about their “live a happier and healthier life” options. The half a day event showcased the fitness and relaxation activities.

Alvea Spa

Alvea Spa is located within the Encanterra Country Club Resort Community. They hosted a booth today to share their variety of services.

  • Reflexology
  • Chair Massages
  • Naturopathic/Acupuncture
  • Aroma Therapy

I have visited the Alvea Spa for many services and my favorite is getting an hour-long pedicure. There are very relaxing. There is something great about having my feet massaged.

Culinary Team of Encanterra

Encanterra Country Club Resort Community has 2 main restaurants, 1 breakfast restaurant, and 2 poolside restaurant/bars. Today they provided juicing recipes and demonstrations of healthy tasting juicing.

There was another table where we could sample the different protein balls. I forgot what the representative said each one was made up of. However, I do know that they all tasted good.

Wellness Classes

We wore our fitness clothes and bought our yoga mats. The three wellness classes took place on the soft green space overlooking the expansive 18-hole golf course and lakes.

Tai Chi

It had been a long time since I attended a Tai Chi class. It felt good to perform a relaxing routine. Per the class description, “An ancient form of Chinese exercise of slow, beautiful, relaxed movements that develops a sense of balance and harmony between mind and body. Improve flexibility, coordination, concentration, balance, endurance, stamina and strength – all while helping to relieve stress.” Have you taken a Tai Chi class?

POUND

This was my first time in a POUND class. We received 2 POUND Sticks as we either stood or sat on the yoga mats. Then we followed along with the instructor pounding the sticks on the mats and clicking them together. The class description mentions, “Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements.” We created some great music. Would you take this class if it was offered at the resort you were staying at?

Line Dancing

Our final fitness class of the day was with a line dance class. We learned so many fun dances to songs such as Uptown Funk and Fireball. Our instructor provided very simple explanations of steps as the songs played. It appeared that everyone was having a fun time.

This was a great day to learn about the options when at Encanterra Country Club Resort Community. I know when we travel I look up the fitness room and what equipment is available. Now I will also find out about the fitness classes. Would you vacation at a fitness resort?

  1. I also attended this event. It was a great way to learn all of the fun and healthy things to do. Enjoyed the outdoor classes.

  2. what a fun way to spend a day! I love exploring wellness options and I’ve always wanted to take a pound class!

  3. It looks like you had a fun and varied day. I have been to only a few resorts (I usually stay in smaller hotels) but never thought of checking up their wellness program, it is a good idea.

  4. Sounds like a fun day! I have tried line dancing, but not Pound or Tai Chi. New experiences are always great!

  5. I always love trying new ways to move my body, so I would have tried all three classes and who is going to say NO to free samples! Yum!

  6. I’ve never heard of Pound class but it sounds like fun to me and of course, line dancing is a blast. My kids go to a square dance every year and it’s a blast. That’s actually my type of exercise.

  7. Id personally love to vacation at a fitness-centric resort – as long as I was still allowed a martini! These activities sound fun and engaging tho – I bet it’s an experience.

  8. It’s funny, I never set out to visit a place because of its spa but I do partake in the spa from time to time. You’d think it would be a bigger deal to search spas out when selecting our hotels but I just don’t. I might however, start now thanks to your post

  9. I never knew there was such as thing as wellness fair. My body is telling me that I need to check this out! Sounds like so much fun!

  10. My mom is always asking me if I know of any fitness resorts… I could never say yes! This looks like it is really beneficial. Thank you for the recommendation!
