When you are traveling, it is important to have a lightweight comfortable pair of shoes. For the month of February, I wore the Arcopedico Women’s L18 to many events to see if they would hold up to my distance walking and standing in one place for a long period of time. Here is what I experienced.
The first day the Arcopedico Women’s L18 shoes arrived; we attended and participated in a Bocce Ball game. If you are not familiar with the game of bocce ball – there is a lot of standing around, especially if you are a judge. As a judge, I would stand near the end of the court and measure the distance of the player’s balls to the pallino ball. This requires a lot of standing in the rocks or on the concrete border and then bending over with a measuring tape often. In regards to the shoes, I liked how much padding was in the shoes and I was comfortable. When I came back to the starting area with the other players, 4 ladies saw my shoes and asked me about them. Since they are simple to slide on and off, I simply slid off a shoe and handed it around. It was good that I had just received them and my feet were not sweaty and therefore the shoes did not smell. That would have been embarrassing. Thank goodness the shoes are breathable.
We attended the Architects of Air exhibit in Mesa, Arizona. The exhibit floors, walls, and ceiling are made from colored plastic, which meant no shoes inside. There was an area with chairs for people to remove their shoes and place them on a shoe rack. I was able to keep my shoes on while we waited in line for our group to be called and then only having to slip my shoes off was really convenient. There were people who had to untie their shoes and unlace boots. The shoe rack was not large and since the shoes are crushable, I was able to smash them into the small space. Then after the tour of the exhibit was over, I was able to simply slide the shoes back on, while others had to wait for a chair to lace up their shoes.
The 1st Annual Sweets Rides Car Show event we attended was on damp grass. The grip on the bottom of the shoe was great because I did not slip once, as I am sometimes prone to do when I am walking. I was not concerned about getting grass stains on the shoes because they are washable. Can you believe that? They are washable, now that is cool.
The shoes I was wearing had the Velcro strap that allows for maximum adjustability. This is helpful when you have been on your feet all day and need to adjust the Velcro accordingly. We were on our feet for multiple hours when we were attending the liquor tasting. My feet were comfortable with all the padding. There were some people in not so comfortable shoes, looking around to find chairs to sit down.
The L18 is completely free of any animal products and is biodegradable. I also appreciate the flexibility to fit the shape of my feet. If you are looking for a pair of comfortable, breathable, washable, smashable shoes, check out the Arcopedico Women’s L18.
