In December we attended the Winter Wine & Spirits Festival hosted in San Tan Valley. There were 27 vendors providing samples of over 200 wines and spirits. This was our second time attending the Winter Wine & Spirits Festival. We learned a lot from our first visit to make the most of our second visit. You receive a wine glass at the registration/check-in table. They also have cute wristbands for you to wear. Note: You must return the wine glass at the end. Here are a few tips that will help you make the most of a wine and spirits festival.
#5 Indoor and Outdoor Event
This event had vendors inside and outside. We suggest you dress accordingly. I brought a coat because I did not know if it would be cold. The 60 degrees Fahrenheit weather was perfect and I did not have to wear the coat.
#4 Eat Food in Between Tastings
There were many hors d’oeuvres stations with had bread, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits.
#3 You Don’t Have to Drink The Entire Glass
Each table had multiples bottles of wine or spirits for you to sample. If you do not like the taste of the drink dump out the rest in the spit cups that are available at each table.
#2 Hire a Driver
Be responsible and hire a diver. You might be surprised how quickly you can become intoxicated at an event like this. Not only are there wines to sample, but there are also spirits and beers.
#1 Pace Yourself
The tasting lasts for 2 hours. There is plenty of time to sample many wines and spirits. No need to rush because the vendors bring many bottles to share.
