Alta Climbing center is going to be a fantastic location to learn and heighten climbing skills while being in a climate-controlled environment.
Hunter and I enjoy indoor and outdoor climbing. Indoor is a safe environment to try out those skills that I might have been afraid to do on a mountain.
Alta Climbing and Fitness
Coming soon to Gilbert, Arizona is the 30,000 sqft facility with a climbing gym, equipped fitness center with free weights, yoga studio, and an indoor cycling room.
Hunter and I are very excited about the climbing and bouldering walls. The gym will have route, lead, speed, bouldering walls, and Moon & tension board training area. During the Arizona summers when the temperatures after dark are still in the 100’s degrees Fahrenheit, an indoor climbing gym allows us to practice our skills when it is too hot to climb outside.
We hear they will also have climber education classes (Lead Climbing, Climbing 101, Route Setting Basics, Repelling, Multi-pitch Training).
Alta Climbing will be the host to Arizona’s only Olympic sized 15-meter competition speed wall. Now that is very awesome.
Eaves Family
We got to visit with many family members at the event. They shared the location of the building and different sections. Everyone was so friendly and ready to share stories.
Eric, Pam, Deborah, and Paul are four of the ten children in the Eaves Family to bring Alta Climbing to Gilbert. Check out their website for more family history.
Ground Breaking Event
On November 27th, 2020 we visit the location where all the above will be completed in 2021. The soil has been moved and construction equipment has been working. On this day the community was there to witness the shoveling of soil from the business owners.
Glad we brought our climbing shoes because there was a rock wall to climb!
Alta Climbing and Fitness
The facility is located at 3192 South Ranch Court, Gilbert, AZ 85297.

Climbing
Have you rock climbed before or would you try climbing for the first time?
I imagine this will be a really fun winter activity in Arizona. I think summer might be too hot?
The summer is very warm in the Phoenix, AZ area, therefore an indoor climbing facility would be great for those who still want to climb.
This looks so great!
The owners had put a lot of thought into the amenities.
I’m so in awe of those who rock climb! And this looks like a fabulous place to give it a try!
We agree. The building will have an area for boulder, for those who do not want to go high up on a wall.
Wow looks like a fun facility!
We are excited for next year when it is built out.
