As participants of the 2019 Veterans Club at Encanterra Annual Golf Charity Event entered the community they followed the flag lined road to drop off their clubs. The clubs were tagged with the golfer’s name and transported to their assigned cart. Golfers then proceed to the welcome area for some coffee and donuts.
At the registration tables, golfers purchased Mulligans and Water Ball Forgiveness. Next, they received a gift bag. Then proceeded to the driving range to practice strokes and for opening events.
Opening Events
All golfers and family members were present at the driving range. We viewed the presentation of the United States Flag, Arizona Flag, and POW Flag by the Queen Creek High School Army Junior ROTC. Vintage World War II flyover accompanied by a live performance of the National Anthem and America the Beautiful. There were many wet eyes (including mine) in remembrance of those who lives have been lost and for those that have served our country.
4-Person Best Ball Scramble
This event would be a 4-person Best Ball Scramble format. The golfers proceed to their carts and to their assigned holes for a shotgun start. Each team of 4 people played 18 holes. There were multiple hole-in-1 contests. Many holes had sponsors who had food and swag for the golfers.
Awards and Charities
After a full day of 18 holes of golf, the golfers attended a dinner and entertained by a live band. There were raffles and a silent auction for golfers to bid on.
At this time the top 3 teams with the best score received trophies. Then the team with the worst score won the “Honest Score Award.”
The event wrapped up with the presentation of checks to Project Veterans Pride/James Walton House, American Service Animal Society, and Veterans First LTD.

I lived in Augusta, Georgia for nearly 30 years and every April, golf is literally ALL the city does. I’ve been just a couple of times…the tickets are so hard to get!
That would be a fun place to watch golf.
I don’t golf myself, but supporting the Veterans Club is awesome!
Yes, it is.
I have never been to a golf tournament, and I don’t play golf myself. However, I have always imagined it would be such an enjoyable and relaxing thing to do all while enjoying beautiful surroundings outdoors! Sounds lovely! 🙂
If you get a chance, drive the golf cart. It is fun.
